Diamond Bar Home Goes Green with Rishi Kumar

By Matt Schoenmann

The Growing Home, a project in sustainable agriculture (permaculture), took root in Diamond Bar with the work of one student, his family, and a lot of elbow grease.

Rishi Kumar writes: “Since 2008, we have grown thousands of pounds of fruits, vegetables, and herbs on our 5000 sq ft of land, feeding our family and our local community.  We believe that growing food makes more sense than growing grass, that it is time for our society to reconnect with the food it eats, and that the best healthcare is fresh, vibrant, organic food.   We strive to educate people and help them grow their own food.  From our monthly potlucks to our guest lectures at local schools to our organic garden installations, The Growing Home is here to help make our community a cleaner, greener, healthier place.”
