Shall We Find Our Hearts Again? - A Poem by M.N. Hopkins

Love of money

Has brought many

Nations to their knees

Love of others

Has healed many communities

One is expressed in

Love of oneself

The other

Expressed

In Love from Self

To self and others

One creates

Healthy individuals

And

Groups

The other

Destroys all that is good

Within our humanity

Which shall it be?

Which shall we be?

Which will prevail?

In the days ahead

Who has the courage?

Who has found their heart?

Perhaps you

Perhaps me

Perhaps us

Yes

We

Will once again

Find our hearts

So full of

Light

So full of

Peace

So full of

Joy

So full of

Love

And live without fear

Having chosen

Once Again

The pathway of

Love

Note:  This poem was written yesterday September 5, 2013 after watching news reports of the G20 (Greed 20) meeting in Russia and reflecting on the 24 hour visit of Obama to Sweden the day before this show of hypocrisy.  I published it for the first time on my blog today.

self denotes the ego whereas Self indicates the Soul as used in this poem.

Poems have a way of weaving a tapestry in fewer words, its design is set un hues, and each person "finds" the heart of the message according to his or her own focused search.
The poem asks and urges a step towards values of no cost, timeless, and indestructible.
Beautiful piece my friend...
